Poljes de Mosqueruela. Teruel. Patrimonio Geológico Aragonés.

SITUACION GEOGRAFICA:

En las inmediaciones de las serranías de Gúdar, en el entorno de la localidad de Mosqueruela; ésta se encuentra al Este de la provincia deTeruel, en la carretera comarcal 1.701. El área de interés es amplia, y se localiza entre las poblaciones de Mosqueruela y Vistabella, ésta última ya en Castellón.

CONTENIDO:

Los poljes son grandes depresiones kársticas, endorreicas y de fondo aplanado, generalmente rellenos de materiales residuales de la disolución de rocas como las calizas (arcillas de descalcificación).

La región de Mosqueruela presenta una serie de poljes desarrollados sobre calizas cretácicas. Su evolución tiene un condicionante tectónico (delimitación por fallas), que ha dado lugar a una orientación general de los mismos Noreste-Noroeste.

El más importante, por su tamaño, es el recorrido actualmente por el río Monleón (en los mismos límites provinciales), con 27 Km de longitud. En la misma zona de Mosqueruela existe otro polje fácil de observar, son frecuentes los conos de deyección que aportan material extra a las depresiones. También se ven "hums", o pequeños relieves residuales de calizas en medio de los poljes.

La mayor parte de los poljes han sido "rotos" por captura de una red fluvial exorreica, lo cual hace que actualmente no sean apenas funcionales.
