Aragon > Naturräume in Aragon > Fauna

Within the arthropods represents the group with four pairs of articulated legs.

It is the most important group of arachnids, which includes all spiders, with about 30,000 species.

Spiders

They have segmented bodies, but the segments are not as visible; The most obvious is the division of the body into "head" (actually, head and thorax joined together forming the cephalothorax) and abdomen.
The abdomen is attached to the cephalothorax by a peduncle.
They have on their head joints terminated in characteristic nails (chelycer) that have poisonous glands.
They have 3 pairs of rows in the abdomen that secrete silk, with which they build the fabrics.
The spiders also use the thread to move and leave another silk thread when moving.

In our own house we can find ourselves kind of like this:

Homemade spider

View from the bottom, we can appreciate:
the differentiation between cephalothorax and abdomen
its four narrownesses, on each side, start from the cephalothorax the same as the chelicers. The abdomen, larger, has a gland that produces the silk that it uses to build its fabrics.

She is a great hunter and here is a sample of her food.

Victims of a Spider

This spider is about 6 mm long from the "head" to the end of the abdomen.
Some of her victims are twice as big as her.

Some spider species:

Garden spider body: 18 mm
Black widow (very poisonous) body 11 mm
Crab spider 8 mm
Grass spider 20 mm
Tarantula (poisonous) body: 3 cm
