• Forests also regulate water supply around the world, retaining it during the rainiest periods and releasing it through springs and rivers in the dry seasons, when it is most needed.
• By stopping drains, forests protect the soil from water erosion.
• Wind erosion is also reduced. In addition, the soil is not at the mercy of the sun, avoiding excessive desiccation.
• The forest provides wood and other products (medicines, resin, wild fruits, mushrooms, etc.), as long as proper management is done.
