Cipriniformes is one of the most numerous Orders, with only freshwater species, which includes several families with species as well known as piranha, pike, the carp, the red fish, the tench, the barbel, etc.
The silurids and the catfish, which will develop separately, are also cypriniform.
They usually have fins with radii without spines and often a pair of chins on the chin. They have no teeth in the jaws but in the pharynx.

Cyprinids Teleosts Fishes.
They are usually omnivorous, but there are herbivores.
Some typical species:
Tent (50 cm to 1 m)
Vermilion or rodeo (10 cm)
Common barbel (Between 60 cm and 1.5 m)
Ciprinodontiformes are small fish with soft fins of bright colors and very diverse shapes, so they are very popular for aquariums.
They are inhabitants of the warm and tropical rivers, and some have given rise to aberrant species obtained artificially by means of diverse crossings.
This fish has each eye divided in two, so that it can observe both the outside and the inside of the water.
The Family of the Esócidos includes the pike and other species like the foxino, the black fish of Alaska, etc.
The pike is one of the most voracious fish in freshwater and feeds on insects, fish and amphibians, but it can also attack mammals and birds that approach the water.

Pike
The Family of the Caracínidos or serrasálmidos, whose best known representative is the piranha, differ from the other cyprinids in owning teeth in the jaws.
They have a compressed body and live in the rivers of Africa and South America.
Their voracity is well known and they are able to devour in large flocks any animal that falls into the water.
They also attack man.
