The Wildlife Refugee declaration made aims to fulfill the following purposes:

a) Preserve and restore populations of wild vertebrate species, especially those included in the National Catalog of Endangered Species and those that could be included in the Catalog of Endangered Species of Aragon.

b) Preserve and restore populations of species and communities of wild vertebrates of scientific, cultural and hunting interest.

c) Offer possibilities for studies, knowledge and enjoyment of wildlife in a space of high environmental quality.

Article 2 of Decrees 68/1995, 69/1995 and 70/1994, of April 4, of the Diputación General de Aragón, by which the National Hunting Refuges are reclassified in Wildlife Refuges.

Description

The WILDLIFE SHELTERS, figure that appears in the Hunting Law of Aragon, come from the reclassification of the old National Hunting Refuges. Created for the purpose of conserving and maintaining hunting resources, they have managed, despite not being their original purpose, the protection of certain Natural Spaces such as the LOMAZA DE BELCHITE and LAGUNAS DE GALLOCANTA and SARIÑENA.
