Alternas, hojas: It is said of the leaves, one on each side, along a stem, but without opposing

Amento: Hanging head composed of small unisexual flowers arranged around a central axis

Anatomia: Structure of a living being

Angiosperma: Plant with flowers, whose seeds are enclosed inside a fruit

Anquilosaurios: Armored ornistiquios dinosaurs

Antera: Sacks at the tip of the stamen where pollen is produced

Anticlinal: Fold with concavity oriented towards the interior of the Earth originated by the action of compressive tectonic forces on sedimentary rocks

Árbol: Woody plants of great size, with a main trunk and a clearly distinguishable cup

Árbol Latifolio: Tree with flowers whose seeds have cotyledons

Arcosaurios: Reptiles that includes the current crocodiles, in addition to the already extinct dinosaurs, pterodactyls and tecodónilos

Arenisca: Detritic sedimentary rock from the diagenization of sands

Argilita: Clay with laminar structure

Bioturbación: Removal of sedimentary deposits by living organisms

Bípedo: Walking on two legs

Bipinnadas: Leaves that are divided into leaflets, which in turn are divided into smaller leaflets

Bráctea: Leaf: flake located at the base of a flower or head that often protects the buds

Caduco: Tree that sheds all its leaves, in autumn in the temperate zones and in the tropics at the beginning of the dry season

Cáliz: The outer and protective layer of a floral bud formed by sepals");

Cambium: Layer located between the xylem and the flower that stimulates the development of the trunk, causing it to grow slightly thicker each year

Canchal: Accumulation of blocks at the foot of a ledge from which they have detached

Carnívoro: That feeds on meat

Carnosaurios: Large and strong theropod dinosaurs

Circo glaciar: Basin of glacial erosion in mountain regions, with a semicircular and limited plan, upstream waters, by steep escarpments

Cuarcitas: Siliceous metamorphic rock derived from the transformation of a sandstone made up of quartz grains and siliceous cement. It is very resistant to erosion

Charnela: Element of a fold that corresponds to the sector of maximum concavity in a syncline and maximum convex in an anticline

Derrubio: Detrital product of hillside erosion

Discordancia: Arrangement that presents a sedimentary set when the latest, higher series do not keep parallels with the older, lower series of the substrate previously deformed by tectonics

Dolomia: Sedimentary rock of chemical origin formed by double calcium and magnesium carbonate

Domo: Anticline of equal width and length. Dome

Ensilladura anticlinal: Concave deformation in the longitudinal axis of an anticline

Falla: Tectonic deformation identified as a fracture of the earth's crust with displacements of the affected blocks

Festuca: A genus of herbaceous plants in the grass family

Fosa tectónica: Structural depression coinciding with a sunken block of the earth's crust and delimited by faults

Gelifracción: Rock fragmentation process linked to the alternations of ice/thaw to which the water occupying the pores and the cracks of the same is subjected

Geoenergía: Energy from inside the earth

Glacis: Flat, gently sloping surface that, from the mountainous slopes, connects with the bottom of a valley or depression. They are landforms of regions with a climate of irregular rainfall and strong intensity

Glera: The same as Canchal

Helioenergia: Energy from the sun

Horst: Block of the earth's crust elevated between tectonic trenches and delimited by faults

Karst: In geomorphology, characteristic modeling of rocks that can be attacked by processes of rock dissolution, generally limestone or gypsum.

Karst, elementos: The most significant elements are lapiaces, dolimas or torcas or poljes and galleries or underground rooms

Lengua glaciar: Glacial ice mass emitted from circuses and flowing through a valley

Lutita: Detrital sedimentary rock from diagenization of particles less than 50 microns

Morrena: A form of glacial accumulation, located below the level of permanent snow, consisting of heterometric rocky materials carried by glacial ice

Orogenia: Mountain range formation period (orogen). Orogenic periods last tens of millions of years and exhibit several especially intense pulsations

Periglaciar: Term applied to climates, morphogenetic processes and modeling characterized by the alternation of ice/thaw and its effects

Pizarra: Metamorphic rock with a laminar structure, mainly originated by the transformation of clays subjected to strong pressures and high temperatures

Proceso morfogenético: Mechanisms of erosion, elemental or complex, that directs the modeling of the relief and its evolution

Relieve residual: Relief that due to the resistance of its materials and its important structural volume it persists in protrusion after having escaped to important erosive levels

Ripples: Small ripples caused in the sand by the movement of the waves, the waters of a river or the wind

Saltación: Transport process in which the particles migrate in small jumps. Affects the surface layer of the soil on the slopes

Sinclinal: Fold with convexity facing the interior of the Earth, caused by the action of compressive tectonic forces

Solifluxión: Transportation process in a stream identified with the massive and slow movement of a muddy mass. Characteristic of wet and periglacial media

Suelo poligonal: Characteristic soil of the periglacial domain on flat surfaces, whose materials are arranged forming closed geometric figures

Superficie de erosión: Plain developed on folded or failed structures, originated by erosion processes that have leveled equally resistant and brittle materials

Terraza fluvial: Form of accumulation originated by the activity of a river and located in a valley. It corresponds to old abandoned river beds and highlighted by subsequent erosion
