La humedad y las suaves temperaturas reinantes son la causa del que el romero presente ya una floración muy llamativa. Pueden distinguirse otras especies vegetales propias de la zona, muy frágiles debido a lo poco desarrollado del suelo y el pisoteo del ganado o de vehículos: sisallar, romeral gipsícola, ononis tridentata gypsophila hispánica.
FAUNA: Pueden verse y escucharse algunas especies de aves invernantes como la alondra, la bisbita, la lavandera, el escribano y el aguilucho. Otras especies propias de la zona esteparia que permanecen todo el año en la Lomaza de Belchite son la alondra de Dupont, la terrera marismeña, la curruca rabilarga, cogujada común y montesina y la perdiz roja.
