Días despejados y soleados, sin precipitaciones ni apenas viento, se han sucedido esta semana en el Valle de Tena. Las noches reciben pequeñas heladas, pero tan sólo encontraremos hielo en las pistas forestales a partir de los 1.700 metros. La accesibilidad al valle es buena por las carreteras principales.
En este momento podemos ver ejemplares nutridos de hojas de heléboros, espino albar, espantalobos, enebros. No hay flores en la vegetación, pero sí han fructificado los acebos, la rosa canina, los serbales.
La fauna anda quieta: han finalizado los cortejos y no se observan movimientos importantes de aves. No obstante se ha visto volar al milano real y evolucionar a las ardillas comunes.
Mientras aún pasta el ganado en los prados más bajos, las labores propias de esta época son la preparación de los campos, la limpieza de ribazos, la poda de árboles frutales, y naturalmente la matanza del cerdo y la confección de los adornos navideños.
