Climatología invernal en la Bal de Tena, con temperaturas bajo cero, ventiscas, fuertes heladas y la nieve que ha llegado a los 1.300 metros y allí se mantiene. Prácticamente toda la hoja de las frondosas está ya en el suelo, mientras las coníferas están renovando sus acículas. Las flores se han marchitado por las heladas. El fruto de rosales silvestres y prunus es abundante. El sarrio está en época de celo, el jabalí tiene crías todavía con las rayas de su pelaje y los reptiles han entrado en letargo. Algunos alimoches ya han abandonado el valle y las grullas se han esmerado en emigrar.
