Surgen en el color del paisaje nuevos tonos de principios de otoño, las temperaturas siguen siendo agradables, pero los días se han acortado sensiblemente. Comienzan a amarillear las hojas del abedul y del avellano. Hay fruto en los serbales, los saúcos, la gayuba y salen las primeras moras. Flores de orégano, boca de dragón y saxifraga.
Por los alrededores de la urbanización Formigal, a 1.600 metros de altura, por estas fechas aún se escuchan y se ven marmotas gruesas, con reservas acumuladas para el invierno. Se aprecia, sin embargo, una sensible disminución de ejemplares en el Alto Gállego, con menor número de avistamientos que los observados en los mismos lugares y fechas en años anteriores.
Procedente de Africa, la Esfinge colibrí es una mariposa grande, de cuerpo robusto, con alas apuntadas, tono mimético y vuelo potente y rápido, que se observa muy activa en estas fechas en el Valle.
