Las yemas brotan por doquier en la mayor parte de las especies: serbal, mostajo, saúco, rosal, abedul, espino blanco, avellano, chopo... Destacan flores como la vitaliana y el narciso.
Es un buen momento para la observación de las aves y la escucha de los primeros cantos del año del ruiseñor, por ejemplo. Pueden verse también los primeros cucos, pico menor, andarríos chico, colirrojo tizón, collalba gris, escribano, chochín, alondra, águila culebrera, halcón peregrino. ...
El responsable forestal de la zona ha podido observar y escuchar a los primeros ejemplares de marmota del año, después de un larguísimo período de hibernación, en la zona de Formigal. En el río Aguas Limpias, a su paso por Sallent, numerosos alevines de trucha común aprovechan la alta calidad su ecosistema en esta zona.
