Paisaje invernal, casi desaparecidas todas las hojas de las frondosas, en especial las de los hayedos, aunque aún mantienen algunas los robles. Permanece el color verde de las hojas de las encinas (Quercus ilex) y de las matas llamadas Gayuba, verdes y ramosas todo el año. Dos especies fructifican por estas fechas: el conocido acebo (Ilex aquifolium) y el espino amarillo (Hippophae rhamnoides). La escarcha cuando no la nieve cubre todo el paisaje por las mañanas. Riachuelos y charcas están helados, así como zonas umbrías de carreteras y pistas. La nieve se ha asentado permanentemente por encima de los 1.300 metros.
FAUNA: La abundancia de Chovas piquigualdas y Chovas piquirrojas, muy agrupadas en grandes bandos, en zonas bajas ya anunciaba días atrás la intensificación de los fríos. La Chova piquigualda sólo se la encuentra en Aragón en las alturas pirenáicas, buscando alimento en praderas sin nieve. Llama la atención su elegancia y habilidad en el vuelo, y sus cantos, ya que aunque se trata de un córvido, emite breves trinos.
