Tras las bajas temperaturas y nieves, las lluvias y aumento térmico caracterizan estos días la primavera de la zona, vistiendo de color el paisaje, con el amarillo de la aliaga o el blanco del guillomo entre el verde del cereal. En barrancos, riberas y zonas de rebollar se hace notar la aparición de las nuevas hojas de las frondosas, alguna de las cuales, como los olmos, dan sus flores antes que las hojas.
Aves y mamíferos se encuentran en su más alto proceso de reproducción y se han observado incluso algunas crías de ciervo. Abejarucos y vencejos van llegando a la sierra durante la primera quincena de mayo para reproducirse.
