Aunque las bajas temperaturas y los fuertes vientos han resecado la parte superficial del suelo, el paisaje va cambiando su aspecto con la floración de árboles, arbustos y capa herbácea. Las flores se han visto afectadas por las heladas nocturnas de los últimos días y algunas han retrasado su aparición. En márgenes, ribazos y bordes de caminos, la aliaga sigue siendo la flor más destacada. Las frondosas se resisten a sacar sus hojas nuevas, sobre todo los rebollos de las zonas más altas.
Todas las especies animales se encuentran inmersas en su proceso reproductor y las aves nidificantes en la sierra ya han regresado de sus lugares de invernada. Las orugas de la procesionaria han paralizado sus procesiones de enterramiento debido a las bajas temperaturas.
