El incipiente color primaveral del paisaje se ha visto modificado temporalmente por las bajas temperaturas. En Bronchales y Orihuela, por ejemplo, se recogieron la pasada semana 15 centímetros de nieve, y dos centímetros en Albarracín. Muchas flores se han helado y hay problemas de accesibilidad en la Sierra, aunque no en el Rodeno.
El fresno es la especie que más se está resistiendo a sacar sus nuevos brotes, sin embargo, la mayor parte de las frondosas están despertando del letargo invernal. Al peral y al ciruelo ya se les han caído sus flores, y manzanos y cerezos están empezando a abrir sus primeras yemas. Pronto se podrán recoger las semillas del olmo, ya que da sus frutos antes de sacar las hojas. Se están recolectando las piñas del Pino pinaster para extraer sus semillas.
Las aves están en período de reproducción. El águila real y el halcón peregrino están incubando y la perdiz está haciendo sus primeras puestas.
