Paisaje nevado y climatología invernal son las características del Parque del Posets Maladeta. Los accesos, consecuentemente, no se encuentran en buen estado, y hay que tener precaución.
El invierno se presenta en general con pocos frutos en la vegetación del Parque: sólo el acebo está cargado, bastante menos los escaramujos, poca avellana y bellota, y sin fruto el ayuco, mostajo y serbal. Comienza la incubación del quebrantahuesos y las hembras del sarrio su gestación. Los técnicos del parque han recogido algún cabrito de sarrio muerto por neumonía.
