Los fresnos y los sauces ya han perdido todas sus hojas ayudados por el viento. Los álamos, sin embargo, todavía tiñen de amarillos, naranjas y ocres los sotos de los galachos del Ebro. En el sotobosque abundan los frutos de majuelo, hiedra y rosal silvestre, una reserva de alimento muy importante para los cada vez más numerosos mirlos, petirrojos, zorzales y currucas, recién llegados a estos bosques de ribera donde pasarán el invierno.
Está finalizando la cosecha de maíz y comienzan las labores de preparación de la tierra para la siembra del cereal. También han aparecido las primeras nieblas matinales disipadas por la fuerza del sol al mediodía, confirmando así el conocido dicho ribereño: "Mañanas de niebla, tardes de paseo".
