El nivel actual de aguas en el Ebro es alto, algunos sotos están parcialmente inundados, pero la llegada del buen tiempo permite disfrutar de los paseos entre chopos y álamos, grandes flores blancas de las rosas silvestres, amarillas de la retama y blancas del tamariz.
Es un buen momento para sorprendernos en la contemplación de la especie de ave más representativa de los Galachos: el Martinete, que se mantiene erguido e inmovil hora tras hora sobre el nido sin importarle sol, lluvia o frío. Ha comenzado ya su período de incubación, y su comportamiento colonial favorece la acumulación de nidos en los mismos lugares año tras año.
Los abejarucos se exhiben en sus vuelos nupciales y cazando insectos, sus vivos colores en tonos verdes, azulados y amarillos lo hacen fácilmente identificable. Se le ve posado en algún cable eléctrico o acercándose raudo al agujero del talud en el que prepara su nido.
